Severe weather
event
This radar shot was from 11:30 AM EST, 7-7-2017.
Here was the latest SPC outlook. The Ohio valley, North
Kentucky, east Indiana, and parts of central Ohio.
The wind was one of the
biggest threats.
The hail was the other main threat. Tornadoes were not a
concern.
At around 12:00 PM, the NWS issued severe thunderstorm
watches.
Although tornadoes weren’t the main threat, there were some
warnings issued.
The afternoon was very hot, muggy, & sunny. These are
some ingredients to make severe weather.
As the day went on, the storms got stronger.
And, soon after, Cincinnati was in a severe thunderstorm
watch.
These storms went south-east.
The dewpoint was much higher than usual. It got up to 75.
Here’s a radar shot from 4:45 PM EST,

Here is the radar from 5:00 PM, EST.
These severe storms really picked up. At around 6:00 PM, the
storms started to hit Cincinnati.
At around 6:15 the winds picked up, trees were really
bending, the visibility was low, and branches began to fall. Unfortunately a 3
inch in diameter branch fell on a parked car, cracking the windshield,
and
putting a softball size hole in it. Minor damage in the interior.
